Pupil Chaplaincy Team

“Jesus is calling you to be a disciple with a mission! Go, do not be afraid, and serve."
Pope Francis, 29th July 2013

The role of a Pupil Chaplain is to serve as a member of their Chaplaincy Team to support the Catholic Life of the School.

In St. Kentigern’s our pupil chaplains:
  • Give joyful witness of Christ in their school – they are missionary disciples.
  • Provide support in the delivery of the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all pupils across the curriculum.
  • Assist with the Sacramental programme.
  • Peer pastoral care at break times and lunch times in the playground.
  • Assist with the delivery and development of the prayer life of the school by supporting assemblies, worship, class prayer times and prayer groups.
  • Develop and lead prayer activities.

Each member of the chaplaincy team are assigned to a year group and visit each class weekly to deliver the statement of the week and take part in collective worship.

Follow Me, St Kent’s Chaplaincy

Chorus:
Follow me, follow me,
We’re St. Kent’s Chaplaincy,
We will help you learn all about God,
We will lead you in your prayers,
And show you that God cares,
Then you will be closer to His heart.

Verse 1:
If you need any help,
Then just give us a yelp,
We’ll be happy to help you no matter what,
It’s time to help your loved ones,
Time to help your friends,
Cos on our team the fun will never end.

Verse 2:
Come and clap along,
Sing a jolly song,
If you want to be part of the team.
Never be scared to ask,
Forget about the past,
Come and follow us the chaplaincy team.
