As part of our ICT computing programme the children have been exploring technology on the Ipads and practised recording a short video of their partner. We thought of a short sentence about Spring and recorded it in pairs. The children were very careful using the Ipads and showed excellent directing skills! We have put together the children's filming in a short presentation. Enjoy!
This week we read the story 'Jasper's Beanstalk'. The children practised sequencing the main events linked to days of the week and retelling the story using descriptive language. We wrote letters to Jasper and also carried out practical maths activities subtracting using the beanstalk and magic beans. The children loved discussing what might happen next and what he would find at the top of the beanstalk. Samuel independently wrote his own prediction as a full sentence!
This week we introduced our new topic 'Growth and Change'. The children went on a scavenger hunt to look for early signs of Spring and we explored new vocabulary linked to the natural world. The children have been investigating different plants and followed instructions to grow their own beans. We have started our own plant diaries which the children will be writing in as they notice the natural changes as when the bean grows. The children have also really enjoyed using the garden centre role play area and getting green fingered in the classroom!
