Today was St. Kentigern's Sports Day. It was a wonderful day and the children were brilliant. I could not have done it without the help of my amazing sports leaders and Mr. Brownlow's help. I would like to thank all the parents who came to support, it was a fantastic turn out. Thanks again, until next year!!!
Our year 5 girls will be representing Manchester today at the county finals. They have worked extremely hard all year to reach this final stage. Wish them luck!
At St Kentigern's, we have a team of young sport leaders. Their job is to help other young children in our school develop in sport and be positive role models. As a reward for all of their hard work, we were invited to the Young Leaders Summit at Manchester City.
Over the past year, Manchester City have sent out young leaders and coaches to 14 different countries and for one week only they brought them back to show our leaders what they have learned in the countries they have been to.
This was an opportunity for our children to experience what sport is like all around the world and at the same time make new friends from various nationalities such as Columbia, China, America, South Africa and many more.
The children had a fantastic day and were excellent ambassadors for our school and country. Very proud of them all.
Yesterday, the year 5 boys football team played in the finals of the Manchester City Premiership football final. Unfortunately due to numerous absences we were not at full strength and lost 1-0. The children that played gave a valiant effort and hit the post twice but unfortunately lost. The boys worked extremely hard to get to the final and I am so proud of getting this stage of the competition.
