As part of our Edison Learning topic about Toys, we have started our Literacy work looking at key vocabulary and sentences. The children loved exploring little bags of real toys and describing them in pairs, before writing lists and labels for the different objects. These labelled toys are now in our very own Toy Shop role play area. It has been great to see the children's gradual improvement in letter formation and sentence structure. The big focus for Year 1 is: Capital letter, finger spaces, full stop and check it makes sense! Please keep reading every day with your child, as being a confident reader will significantly improve writing ability. I have shared a few examples of good writing so far. Please remember, it is only week 2 and the children have done so well to settle into the routine! Keep up the hard work!
