After getting rather wet on our Geography treasure hunt last week and having to cut our trip short, we couldn't wait to get back in the outdoors today and get creative with nature!
The children we fantastic nature artists and worked exceptionally well in their creative teams!
Lots of natural materials were collected and brought in from home which made the making process super smooth and helped them produce some inspirational pieces of outdoor art!
Andy Goldsworthy would have definitely been giving these creations a BIG thumbs up!
AMAZING effort Year 2!
Today we've explored the artwork of Andy Goldsworthy in the Dreamzone!
We discovered that his inspiration is the beauty of nature around him!
He uses materials such as; mud, stones, leaves, logs, feathers, ice, grass, flowers, sand, snow...anything naturally found in his current environment!
We discussed the colours and materials used, our 'first thoughts' to his artwork, what we like and dislike about his creations and thought of questions we'd like to ask him!
We are excited about creating our own
art in the park tomorrow!
Our Science topic this term is giving us an opportunity to explore animals and their babies!
We have been developing our team working skills by sorting the animals into groups:Mammals, Birds, Amphibians and Reptiles.
Next we set to work matching the animal babies to their adults! We can now name these using the correct scientific vocabulary!
