This week was Science week and 3C have been busy with a range of experiments. Have a look at what we have been up to!
We investigated if peeling the skin of an orange would change if it floated or sank. We learnt that the orange skin acted as a life jacket because it has tiny holes all over it that fill with air, this meant that the orange floated with its skin on and sank when it was peeled!
The next day we investigated how our shadows changed at different times of the day!
We noticed that our shadows were alot stronger and clearer at midday than in the morning because the sun was at its highest point in the sky.
Soda Bicarbonate and Vinegar Experiment!
During Science week we also investigated what would happen when we mixed vinegar and soda bicarbonate. We noticed at first the mixture fizzed up and there was a lot of bubbles, but then, a gas was released which caused the glove to fill up and expand! We also talked about particles and the different states of matter.
