In year three this week, the children have been working hard in their maths to build their mental maths skills. They have been adding and subtracting in their head with pounds and pennies. They have really persevered and are doing brilliantly.
On the subject of money, the children have also been attending lots of different events in school to raise money for CAFOD - a very worthy charity at this time of Lent. On Thursday, the children watched a high-fashion modelling fashion show by the year sixes and also enjoyed a fun fair which was run by year five today.
In RE, we have considered all the important reasons for 'giving all' in our RE topic, remembering others who have less than ourselves. Why not support others, whilst enjoying yourself at the same time!
Thank you to parents and children for all your continuing support to such a great cause !
The children in year three have been working very hard for the past two weeks on their performance of 'Gran, Can You Rap?'
They have been concentrating on their rhythm and pace, and focusing on the expression in their voices to make the rap style poem even more exciting for their audience.
It went down a storm with all the teachers and children in the recital on Thursday - a big well done to everyone!
We have had a great week back in year three.
The class has really impressed me with their effort in maths this week which has involved dividing two digit numbers through the method of chunking.
We have also started a new topic - natural disasters. The children have already shown brilliant passion for the subject and I look forward to exploring it some more. Here are some of their brilliant pieces of artwork showing a cross-section of a volcano.
