We have had a great week this week. We learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as part of Black History week. We had really interesting debates and discussions about what life would be like if we were not all equal. We decided that it's much better to treat everyone equally and that everyone has the same human rights.
We also looked at Diwali- the festival of light. We made gorgeous lanterns!
I hope everyone has a lovely half term and comes back to school well rested!
Year 4 had an amazing trip to Ironbridge this week. We visited a Victorian Town, we stayed in a hostel over night and we saw the town of Ironbridge and a really famous tile museum.
According to 4McG the highlights of the trip were changing money into old money, seeing people dressed up in Victorian clothes, the bunk beds, the hot chocolate before bed, the treasure hunt, seeing the big bridge, walking through the forest and designing the tile.
We were exhausted but we had a FANTASTIC time!
We are reading a fantastic book called Street Child by Berlie Doherty. It is set during the 1860's and gives us an insight into what life was like as a child during that time. The main character is named Jim. We drafted and published a diary entry from Jim's point of view. We had a great time writing it and we have produced amazing work!
