Class 10 would like to wish you all a very happy and holy Christmas.
Pictured is our Advent wreath. The wreath is made from the children's hands. On each hand, the children have written a prayer of preparation for Christmas.
There are three candles because three Sundays have passed.
The first candle represents John the Baptist and is also a symbol of Hope.
The second represents the prophets who foretold Jesus' arrival. It is also a symbol of Peace.
The third, pink candle represents Mary and is a symbol of Love, the love she had for her Son.
Can you work out which candle will be lit on the Fourth Sunday of Advent?
Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas, Nollaig Shona Daoibh go léir.
While marking our Literacy books this evening I came across an excellent piece of writing.
The learning objective was to describe a character, using adjectives, descriptive phrases and a comparison. Here is what I found in his book:
"Then something appeared from the door and onto the ramp that looked like an alien with golden skin dipped with shampoo and vinegar. His behaviour was naughty. His eyes looked like rubbers, he was very strange and is UFO was very unusual. It looked like a boiled egg and the colour was a colour I've not seen before. How he moved was like running but not walking. He had 10 eyes and 9 arms. He was very strange indeed."
I am delighted with this work. He has used all the Success Criteria and written an excellent character description. I certainly wouldn't like to meet this character!
Well done! A Class Dojo point for Superb Work is deservedly yours!
The first person in C10 received a coveted Pen License today.
Her handwriting has shown real improvement recently and she has begun to use cursive text in all her writing.
Well done! I hope to be giving out more of these Licenses in the coming weeks and months!
