This term we will be investigating 'States of Matter'.
We explored the properties of solids and liquids and compared them.
Some of these similarities and differences between them made us wonder..." You can't pour solids!"
"But we can pour rice, sugar, sand, salt and they're all solids!" Hmmm!
We learnt that each particle retains its shape and that you cannot pour one grain of rice or one lentil! Solids, such as grains are made up of very small particles which is why they are able to pour!
Next, we investigated how viscous (runny!) some liquids were...this got a little messy but we had a great time being scientists and testing out our predictions!
