We have been investigating how well certain materials act as insulators. This means that they keep heat from escaping.
Mr Tunney brought some mugs and a kettle from the staff room. Some of us thought there was a staff meeting on but it was actually a Science investigation.
We measured how covering the cup affected the temperature of the liquid inside. We also used some different materials like tin foil and cling film and measured the temperature every 2 minutes.
We have been looking at temperature in class.
The children checked the temperature of objects around the classroom and compared them.
They also practised reading the temperature scale in degrees Celsius.
The warmest place that we measured was beside the window!
