Well done to everyone for a fantastic assembly about St Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland. It was so lovely to see so many parents watching and be able to say thank you for all they do for us by giving them a thistle, the national flower of Scotland. We hope we encouraged everyone to take part in the Scottish initiative to #makesomeonesday on Friday and that we made your day by our performance!
Our trip to the Manchester Art Gallery was fun-filled and action packed! From a gallery trail through the exhibitions to building a replica of the Parthenon, we had an amzing day. Learning about the painting by James Barry called 'The Birth of Pandora' was a highlight and produced lots of entertaining role play scenarios! Well done Year 5.
It has been an extremely busy and exciting few weeks since I arrived this half term. 5AW have worked very hard in all areas of the curriculum, but have particularly enjoyed the activities we covered relating to Remembrance Day, the Poetry Recital and the visit from the Chester Zoo Safari Ranger. The excitement continues this week as we look forward to our visit to the Manchester Art Gallery -there's no stopping us!
