On Thursday, we performed a recital of Reynard the Fox by John Masefield. It is a thrilling poem about a fox hunt. The poet uses words and phrases to evoke the tension of a fox being chased by horses and hounds. We used intonation and expression to bring the poem to life. We are looking forward to performing our next poem soon.
Today, we have been learning about St Patrick. He was actually from Wales. He spent 60 years in Ireland where he consecrated 60 bishops to follow in his ways.
This week, we carried out an investigation to find out whether exercise increases hear rate. We took our pulses before exercise then after we had run round the playground several times. Exercise does increase heart rate because the muscles are working harder and need more oxygen, therefore the heart has to pump the blood faster.
