St Kentigern's

R.C Primary School

It has been yet another busy week in 1SD! This week the children have come on leaps and bounds with their computing skills. At the beginning of the year the children did not have any experience in the ICT suite. Now the children can log on independently, open a word document and are beginning to practise their typing skills. Amazing!

A Very Busy Week!

Hello! This week we have been so busy in Year One. The children have been measuring in maths this week. We have used cubes to measure the height and lengths of classroom objects. We have also used the balancing scales and cubes to measure the weights of different classroom objects. In science we have learned all about mammals and the different features mammals have. We were then able to sort a range of animals into mammal and non mammal groups!

A huge well done to our Stars of the Week Kale and Lilah

Have a great weekend.

Miss Dempsey

Hello! Welcome to our class blog.

The children have settled into their new class brilliantly and seem so happy to be back. This week we have been reading the 'Funny Bones' story and the children have produced some lovely pieces of work based on the story too. In Science, we have been exploring the five senses and the children have loved carrying out experiments to test  out each sense. If you want to know more about what objectives and topics the children will be covering this term, please visit our class page and look at our Parent Planner.

There were ten spelling stars this week which is amazing! The names of the children who get full marks on their spellings will be featured on the poster displayed outside of our classroom. Well done!

Another huge well done to our stars of the week Romeo and Talia.

If you have not already signed up to SeeSaw please make sure you do as I post general announcements, spellings and updates on there.

Thank you for your support over the past few weeks whilst the children have been settling in, they have been amazing!
