The Jubilee Year of Hope

This year, our school is excited to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Hope! The Jubilee Year of Hope is a special year where we focus on spreading hope and kindness to everyone around us. It's a time to remember that no matter what happens, there is always hope for a better tomorrow.
Pope Francis has dedicated this year to the "Year of Hope" because he wants everyone, especially when things are tough, to remember that there is always hope. He believes that no matter what challenges we face, we can always trust in God's love and find hope in our hearts. The Pope wants us to focus on helping each other, being kind, and spreading happiness. He believes that by sharing hope, we can make the world a better place and that everyone deserves to feel loved and cared for. This year is a chance for us to grow in faith and bring hope to others!

During this year, we will do things together that will help us grow in love and faith. We’ll celebrate by opening a new door of opportunity each month. Each door will be filled with special activities, reflections, and moments of togetherness.

January 2025: Opened the door of Hope- Our Launch Day happened on 24th January, where each class created pledges of hope.

February 2025: Opened the door to a work of Art- Children completed a home art competition to create a piece art to mark the Jubilee Year of Hope. The Mini Vinnies team worked together to select our winners.

March 2025: This month we will Open the door to the power of prayer. In class, we will have a Travelling Prayer Book during Lent. This prayer book will be a daily reflection for the class to participate in throughout their journey of Lent.

April 2025: Opened the door to serve one another- All children across school participated  in  our Big Lenten walk helping to raise funds for this year’s Jubilee Pilgrimage to Rome.

May 2025: Opened the door to Gods family – We gathered as a school family for our annual Crowning of Mary service.

June 2025: Opened the door to care for creation – The Echo Team came together  to look after God’s World and our school environment.

July 2025: Opened the door of celebration – All  children were invited to wear one of the colours that represent the Jubilee logo symbolising unity and hope - the colours of yellow, red, blue or green. During this day the children reflected on this year’s journey of hope so far and created pledges for their class wall displays.

As part of the Jubilee Year of Hope, Miss McLaughlin and Mr Dreniw have been given the once in a lifetime opportunity to represent St Kentigern’s, Emmaus CAT and the Diocese of Salford as part of a pilgrimage of Hope to Rome. This unique and exciting opportunity was not only a time to reflect and spend time in prayer, but a life changing event which offered profound experiences to reconnect, reflect and renew their spiritual purpose.

September 2025: Opened the door of new beginnings – This half term, the children have revisited our Mission Statement and will be shortly welcoming the Anchor of Hope to our school.
